Title: Good Effort, Shows Potential
Pros: Good storytelling and smooth, creative transitions for a young director. I enjoyed the lack of dialogue, which can be overused in short films. I think it`s best to be more visual with storytelling.
Cons: Obvious drawbacks stemming from a clear lack of resources. Many sound issues are circumvented with the use of music. Lacks an external microphone.
Cinematography is raw, lacking in intimate angles and falls short on continuity through the use of match cuts. Overall falls short from a photography standpoint.
Other Thoughts: A strong effort for a young filmmaker, showing a focus on exactly what should be focused on now: storytelling.
Characters need to be developed more, staying flat with the basic storyline. A strong lead character is needed to pull the audience through this type of story.
Cinematography skills need to be honed. This film lacks color, lighting and frame, the real "art" of filmmaking. These things will develop with time and experience.
